Earlier initiation of sexual activity, high rates of abortion and limited access to contraceptive choice, particularly for unmarried youth have created a significant need for improved, convenient access to and awareness of multiple contraceptive options. In this context, Center for Health Consultation and Community Development (CHD) will work in collaboration with an international NGO to implement a needs-assessment at the private clinics. The results of the assessment will be used to expand contraceptive choice by improving convenient access to historically underutilized methods through multiple private sector channels accessible to urban youth in Hanoi. The assessment will be conducted in five districts of Ha Noi in 2017.

Although Vietnam has expressed the concern and acted to promote gender equality and to end violence against women by ratifying the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and implementing the program on supporting to people with disabilities in the period 2012 – 2020. However, the issue of violence against women still exists in many places, according to a national study on violence against women in Vietnam in 2010, 31.5 percent of ever-married women were reported having experience of physical violence. This issue often occurs to disadvantaged groups, especially the disabled group, so the CHD is working on a project to address the problem of gender-based violence against people with disabilities in Vietnam.
