Currently, motorbikes are still the main means of transportation for Vietnamese people, with about 77 million registered vehicles (2024 data), motorbikes are involved in roughly 70% of traffic accidents. Improving traffic safety for motorbikes will contribute to improving traffick safety in Vietnam.
To have comprehensive solutions for motorbike traffic safety in Vietnam and contribute to sharing with other countries in the world, the Center for Health Consultation and Community Development (CHD) cooperates with the Transport Strategy and Development Institute (TDSI) and the World Health Organization (WHO) organized an international workshop on “Traffic Safety for Motorbikes: Challenges and Lessons Learned” in Hanoi on November 4-5, 2024.
In addition, from 18 to 20 February 2025, the Fourth Global Ministerial Conference on Road Safety will be hosted by the World Health Organization and the United Nations in Marrakesh, Morocco, with the topic of road safety for motorcyclists also being a focus and of interest to delegates.
The CHD Center would like to share a summary report on the international conference here
