On June 18th, 2018, the Center for Health Consultation and Community Development (CHD) and Hyundai E&C-Ghella JV officially entered into a contract to implement “The communication plan on prevention of sexual transmitted diseases (STDs) including HIV and AIDS” for staff and workers of subcontractors implementing the Bid Package 03. Right after signing the contract, the baseline survey on Knowledge, Attitude and Practice (KAP) of staff and workers relating to sexual transmitted diseases (STDs) including HIV has been carried out. Participants felt very excited and happy because this was the first time they had a chance to participate in such an activity. The purpose of this assessment is to identify the needs as well as to develop appropriate communication materials for future communication programs. Through this contract, Hyundai E&C-Ghella JV has expressed their responsibility and concern for their staff and workers in terms of health care. They determine that protection of employee’s health is to protect their property. CHD acts as the organizer, consultation and technical supporter in this contract. The program will be conducted once every two months for staff and workers of the main contractor as well as their subcontractors. The training content will focus on providing basic knowledge of STDs including HIV, as well as introducing ways of prevention. The program will last until the year 2022.
